The 2027 Kia Carnival arrives as one of the most capable and forward-thinking MPVs on the Canadian market, and North Edmonton Kia is proud to have it in our lineup.
Built to carry families in genuine comfort across six trim levels in both ICE and HEV configurations, the Carnival is the kind of vehicle that makes every kilometre around Edmonton, St. Albert, and Spruce Grove, Alberta, count.
The 2027 Kia Carnival HEV pairs a 1.6L Gamma II Turbo engine with a 54 kW permanent magnet synchronous motor, the highest output drive motor in Kia's HEV lineup. Combined output lands at 242 horsepower and 270 lb-ft of torque, managed through a 6-speed automatic transmission with Shift-By-Wire technology.
Fuel economy comes in at an estimated 6.9/7.5/7.2 L/100km city/highway/combined, making the HEV trims a genuinely smart choice for Edmonton drivers dealing with stop-and-go commutes and longer highway runs.
The Carnival HEV also introduces E-VMC (Electrification-Vehicle Motion Control) technology, which includes
These are real, functional systems that actively improve how the vehicle feels and responds on the road. ICE buyers get the proven 3.5L V6 producing 288 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque with an 8-speed automatic.
Step inside the 2027 Carnival and the interior does the talking. Higher trims feature a dual 12.3-inch panoramic curved display spanning both the digital gauge cluster and infotainment screen, with an 11-inch Head-Up Display projecting key information onto the windshield so eyes stay on the road.
The SX+ trim unlocks 7-passenger seating with 2nd Row VIP Lounge Seating, complete with captain's chairs, power reclining, leg rest, and Relaxion Mode. Rounding out the premium experience comes:
Interior colour choices include Off-Black cloth at entry level, with Artificial Leather, Pure Leather, Tuscan Brown, and Navy/Light Grey Leather options available across select trims.
The 2027 Carnival arrives standard with an extensive safety package across all trims. LFA 2 (Lane Following Assist 2) paired with Hands-On Detection (HoD) is now standard equipment, keeping the vehicle accurately centred in its lane.
Highway Driving Assist 2 (HDA 2), available on EX+ and higher trims, maintains a set distance and speed on select highways and motorways, and can automatically initiate lane changes when the turn signal is engaged above a certain speed.
FCA 2.0 brings four collision avoidance scenarios to the table:
A centre-side airbag helps prevent secondary side-to-side collisions between front and rear passengers. OTA (Over the Air) updates keep the vehicle's software current without a dealership visit.

The 2027 Carnival is offered in six ICE trims: LX, LX+, EX, EX+, SX, and SX+. HEV trims include LX HEV, LX+ HEV, EX HEV, SX HEV, and SX+ HEV. The LX HEV is a brand-new addition for the 2027 model year.
Available exterior colours include Snow White Pearl, Thunder Grey, Aurora Black Pearl, Ceramic Silver, and Storm Blue. Flare Red (C7R) is available on select trims but is being phased out as of the July Order Pack. Metallic and Pearl finishes carry an extra charge.
The Carnival offers a minimum cargo volume of 1,139 litres and expands to a maximum of 4,110 litres with the rear seating folded. The 2nd row folds and slides for walk-in access, and the 3rd row features a 60:40 fold-into-floor configuration for flexible loading.
